You’re off target in trying to defend Corbyn, though not anti — Semitic himself he relies on the support of an extremist faction in the Labour Party who have let their dislike of Israel and its government (which is quite justified given the way Israel has treated Palestinians,) affect their attitude to Jewish communities in Britain. Thus these people have for years been willing to turn a blind eye to the anti — Semitic activities of certain Muslim preachers and their followers.
“Jezza” also has a track record for sympathising with, if not quite openly supporting terrorist groups including the IRA. This chapter in his back story is never going to endear him to working class people in Labour’s traditional heartlands in the old industrial areas. Some of the smears on his character are over the top, for example he is not a Kremlin pawn, but over the years he has embraced many of the whacko causes that kept Labour out of power from 1979 to 1997.
Worst of all he is a leader of the working class party who was put into his position by the effete metropolitan professional class. If the Conservatives had a leader any less inept Labour would be on the way to electoral oblivion. As it is, there seems to be more chance of the party destroying itself than being crushed by its opponents.
