You want to know what allegations are unsubstantiated? It would take to long to go through all of them but here’s one that is ‘souced’ to an article in The Independent.
In February 2017, the mysterious Constitutional Research Council (CRC) was confirmed to have donated £435,000 to the DUP (Democratic Unionist Party), of which they routed £425,000 into pro-Brexit ads in London.
Now anyone who takes the trouble to follow the link and read the article will find it is full of words like ‘alleged’ and ‘suggested’ which indicates there is no actual proof of the statements being made, they are speculative. Even if events did play out as described, are they illegal? You cite the opinion on one left wing activist as proof they were.
There have been many complaints of illegal activity in both referendum campaigns, so far the only judicial verdict I’m aware of has gone against the Remain campaign for a rather trivial matter.
We know both sides lied. It was a political campaign FFS. Was there ever a political campaign in which all sides did not lie? Anyone who believes only one side lied in the referendum campaign is terminally naive. I suggest it is you rather than I who needs to bring more diligence to research, you might even learn that Scottish law is different to English law, Northern Ireland law is different again, and the EU actually has no legal right to impose rules on a British democratic exercise.
