Wordpress have always been one of the most authoritarian and restrictive sites on the net. I don’t know how they’ve got away with it for so long while continuing to be regarded as the good guys.

I started a blog with them years ago, then wrote an article posted on another site, pointing out a fundamental flaw in their much hyped Askimet anti — spam offering which at the time allowed anybody to name your site as a spam source without further investigation.

Well that couldn’t possible be abused could it.

The first response was a snottogram telling me I was an evil, right wing nut job. Shortly after that I was listed as a spam source (I never collected users emails and didn’t even have a subscriber list,) and my wordpress blog, which had slowly built up to a couple of hundred page views a day on average, dropped to a handful.
