With you on this one, McCain never heard of a war or intervention he didn’t like. But in recent years (ever since Obama turned out to be the MIC’s rent boy,) the Democrats do seem to have usurped the role of leading war party from the Republicans. It’s not that the GOP have changed their position of course, just that having found they can justify a love of military action by pretending that NATO bombs liberate the oppressed from tyranny, the libs have found war perfectly in tune with their brand of self righteousness.
McCain however was a leading proponent of the “my tribe, right or wrong” school of American exceptionalism that has led to moves led by Russia and China to dump the dollar as reserve currency. And if that position is lost, the underlying weakness of the US economy will be exposed.
The only thing I liked about McCain was his resemblance to Mr. Magoo.
