“Vitamin C supplements, turmeric juices, green smoothies — none of them will give you virus-fighting superpowers.”
I’ve heard eating ginger or garlic in the raw state can help destroy viruses, but you have to eat quite a lot and eating either when raw is not a pleasant experience. And eating raw garlic will kill your love life more quickly and effectively than it will kill viruses.
But humour aside this is excellent advice from most people. Eating well and being well hydrated are vitally important in maintaining good health.
Here in the UK we’ve seen two recent news stories that should highlight the importance of taking responsibility for ourselves. In one a girl, very pretty but grossly overweight, was grieving the death of her boyfriend. Under a picture of the pair the sub headline read, “He shouldn’t have died at 22.”
I though, “Yeah 22 stone,” which translated from our quirky medieval weight units is around 300 pounds.
The other story was spun in a similar way to suggest, “Look, here’s evidence COVID — 19 does not only kill old people,” and again the dead person, aged 29, was morbidly obese. To ask us to believe neither of these people had any underlying health problem.s is an insult. To attain that kind of weight is not healthy.
