This represents an intelligent approach that deserves to be read widely as it is incresingly clear that obesity and diabetes are strongly liked to COVID death rates.
I just came from reading another article, on South Korea's success in handling its epidemic. This suggested South Korea had avoided lockdown and seen a reaitively low death rate because government policy had been led by scientists. Given that scientists the world over tend to take the same view and scientists everywhere else have been completely wrong, it seems unlikely that they did better in South Korea.
The difference, I'm sure is cultural, USA has a junk food diet and a cuture of self indulgence and has, according to official statistics, ben hard hit. Britain and northern Italy, which are following the path trodden by the USA, that of consuming themselves to an early grave, have embraced fast food, sugar laden drinks and the rest.
Southern Italy however, with a more agrarian economy, has fared better in the pandemic. Interestingly the southern part of Italy has stuck more closely to the traditional Italian diet.
Perhaps we should be looking o cultuure rather than science to stop this disease.
