There aren’t many people can get the better of Stephen Fry in a debate. He did go through a period of almost being a professional gay rights campaigner a while ago, but eventually came to understand that — in his words — “the ever more extreme demands of activists were actually have a negative impact.”
Since then he has reverted to being the intelligent, erudite, witty polymath who had become a national treasure after years of educating and informing us as a comedian, actor, novelist, quiz show host and polymath.
I’d expect that as a great champion of tolerance, open mindedness and free speech he had a lot of fun at the expense of the politically correct thought police.
