So one man who ‘identifies’ as a libertarian acts and writes like a Nazi and that is enough to justify branding all who call themselves libertarians or classical liberals as Nazi, yet thousands, millions maybe, of people who claim to be progressive liberals act like fascists by showing their intolerance of dissent, but feel justified in branding their critics fascists.
There are some deep flaws in that logic.
I was once asked how an intelligent person could believe it’s possible to claim to be both a liberal and a libertarian by a person who was obviously eager to tear my reply apart.
I replied that for anyone who understands liberalism as a political philosophy (as opposed to those who simply adopt it as a cuddly sounding alternative to saying, “I’m a far left extremist,”) I’d say it’s almost impossible to be genuinely liberal without being a libertarian.
