Mega claps. I have said for three decades now (and been posting the opinion online for almost two, that governments in the so - called liberal democracies are driving under the influence of corporate money and corporate lobbying.
It is my firm belief that the only way to break their grip and return power to communities is by ending the two party duopolies in major economic powers, Democrat and Republican in the USA, Conservative and Labour in UK, Labour and Liberal in Australia,Christian Democrat and Social Democrat in Germany etc.
The situation in my home, and my reading convinces me it is little different in the other nations, and in Japan, Italy, and other nations where government tends to switch between coalitions of centre left and centre right, is that constitutional rules state that elected representatives' first loyalty should be to their constituents but reality dictates that it is to their party and its major donors.
Until that situation is changed, nothing else will.
