If we in the liberal democracies criticise Russia, China, various third world tyrannies our governments would like to effect regime change in, or one — off like Duterte, we are only echoing the establishment line. And as the medium we work in is known as alt_media it would make no sense to do that. I guess some people haven’t worked out that the “alt” is a contraction of alternative.
My approach is that from an anti — war perspective I have the right to criticize my own country, the UK, and its main allies The USA and France, collectively The FUKUS axis?, for military interventions such as Libya, Afghanistan and Syria, as for the rest of the world our governments can voice disapproval, or even cut off financial aid (probably a more effective weapon than bombs,) but should not get involved militarily beyond providing humanitarian aid, which they should have done, but did not, in Yemen.
And as for complaints that I did not condemn Assad, well I was aware that for years Bashar al Assad and his dear old dad before him, Shi’ites, ran a seuclar regime which protected Syrian Jews, Syriac Christians, Yazidi and Druze minorities from the kind of atrocities committed against them when ISIS forces, armed and funded by FUKUS axis and Saudi Arabian money, seized territory in Syria and Iraq.
