I wish this site didn’t feature so many people who are addicted to self pity. We are not responsible for what our ancestors did. Should Italians feel guilty over what Julius Caesar did to the Gauls or Gnaeus Agricola did to the Britons, should modern French people feel guilt about what the Albigensian Crusade did to the Cathars? There were (and still are) atrocities all over the world (Remember the Hutu trying to wipe out the Tutsi in Rwanda twenty years ago. What about the attempted genocide ISIS tried to inflict on the Yazidi in Iraq between 2013 and this year.
The world is no place for snowflakes and yet here you are indulging in virtue signalling over something that happened long before you were born. A statue is just a lump of stone or metal, a flag is just a sheet of printed cloth. The civil war and the ending of slavery happened 150 years ago.
