I think all that will happen is the fad will pass and something else will become ‘cool’. But then who am I to talk, I don’t even own a smartphone. I do have a pay-as-you-go burner which I use maybe once a month and the number of which is known only to family members and close friends, the reason being that when I’m out of the house I’m doing things that are far too interesting to be interrupted by facebook alerts and when I’m in the house my broadband shares a cable with my landline so access works out much cheaper than on a mobile device.
Also the things I like doing on my three laptops (one for internet, one for video and audio production and one for writing, photo editing and artwork are much more versatile and easier to work with than tablets or other android devices.
I’m not complaining, for a content creator a world full of content consumers is utopia. Long live addiction.

Opted for comfortable retirement before I was fifty due to health problems and burn out. Now spend my time writing and goofing around. Home: northern England..
