I read no further than "The author of the book, The Revolution That Wasn’t: How Digital Activism Favors Conservatives ..."
Digital media favours conservatives? Est elle en train de rire? (That's a British colloquialism that does not translate well into Frence, "Is she having a laugh?"
Digital media itself is neutral, it favours those who know how to use it be they conservative, liberal, socialist, Marxist or fascist. However social media platforms are notoriously left leaning, just do a bit of research and find out for yourselves how many right - of - centre or libertarian figures have had their facebook, twitter, YouTube etc. accounts suspended, deleted or shadowbanned.
The problem with Les fromage mangent siges de rendu (an American phrase coined by President Dubya I believe which I have translated ungrammatically to read better than a literal traslation of cheese - eating surrender monkeys,) is they tend to overthink everything.
The web is what it is. As with newspapers when print reigned supreme or our preferred TV news channel until about a decade ago, we seek information from sources which affirm our prejudices. It's human nature.
