I haven’t much time for the latest wave of ‘feminism’ which seems to be more concerned with advancing the Cultural Marxist agenda than the cause of women.
The idea that women should be the equals of men in every way rather than being ‘equal but different’ came in about 30 years ago when Margaret Thatcher used it to downshift men’s earning power, so that few men earned enough to keep the family in decent style and many women were pressured into working in order to maintain an acceptable lifestyle.
This spawned a new industry in childcare but also meant a lot of working mothers were working for a pittance once childcare costs had been deducted from their earnings.
What society needs is a changed mindset, in the developed world a married woman is no longer legally her husband’s property but the attitudes on male dominance still persist, many men and quite a lot of women still do not see legal or religious versions of ‘marriage’ as a partnership, although private permanent committments often seem to get closer to the right balance.
