Even watching from my distant vantage point in Britain, the Iowa promary has looked like a farcical omnishambles but earlier in the week I read some news that, if true, will have Trump supporters jumping for joy. Apparently Hillary Clinton is touting herself as VP candidate to whoever wins the nomination.
Obviously the people behind this move are spinning the old “nobody more qualified than Hillary ‘line, but I — and you can call me cynical if you like — see is as a sneaky and indirect bid for the presidency. How so? you might well ask.
It’s well known that the US Consitution stipulates that if a president does in office the VP automatically takes over. Given the Clinton’s lengthy track record for having people who get in the way of their ambitions or threaten to expose their dodge dealings die in suspicious circumstances (one shot himself in the head — TWICE, another stabbed himself in the back, the latest — Jeffrey Epstein — hanged himself on a toilet roll, and yet another died in a bizarre gardening accident — oops sorry, I meant a bizarre home gym accident, I getting them mixed up with Spinal Tap drummers,) just how long could the eventual democrat nominee expect to survive after being sworn in as president after being sworn in.
Now this might all sound very far fetched, but put it in the context of the Iowa Democratic Party primary and you will realise it is not just feasible but quite probable.
