Each to his own I guess, while I would not criticize Medium’s site setup I do find a lot of the content anodyne (self — help, self — pity and self - promotion especially) and I seem to have to put more effort into getting ten views on this site than to get a thousand views on my own domain.

It is probably linked to how we work the search engines, things are possible within my own webspace that Medium, quite understandably, would not let users do. unfortunately they’re the things that catch searches.
