“ Basically, automakers are facing a dilemma. If they don’t invest in self-driving technology, investors shun them. If they do, they risk burning billions of dollars on cars that won’t make money.”
Wise investors will not invest in electric cars, autonomous or otherwise, they’ll invest in cobalt. Every electric or hybrid car needs10 to 20 pounds of cobalt. There are no alternatives. Estimated global reserves are 7.1 million tons. China already controls most of the cobalt reserves.
Currently cobalt sells for around $25 a pound but analysts say if electric car production takes off prices will rocket with no foreseeable ceiling.
Forget automakers. Get into cobalt.
