“ At the same time we are seeing a push from the mass media to advance a narrative that the Yellow Vests protests in France are due to Russian influence,”
You’re a bit behind the wave there Caitlin, the latests I’ve heard out of France today is that Trump is responsible for the gilets jaunes protests. His pulling out of the Paris accord spawned the movement apparently. This ignores the fact that since the initial protests against Macron’s green tax (which was more to do with the already exorbitant price of fuel in France than the Paris accord,) the movement has widened in scope and is now an expression of anger at the globalist government’s repeatedly ignoring the concerns of French voters to push the EU or United Nations line.
A ‘conspiracy theorist’ is someone who challenges the narrative, so I would argure that corporate media, by peddling the official line that people who challenge the official narrative or provide reasoned arguments (like why would Assad use chemical weapons when he’s winning if he didn’t use them when ISIS looked unstoppable,) are swivel — eyed far right nutters are in fact conspirators.
Canadian journalist Eva Bartlett, one of the last western reporters to leave Syria, warned us a couple of years ago that the ‘credible sources’ cited by mainstream news operators were in fact ISIS activists.
